Make-up problems every girl can understand

When I was in secondary school there was only a handful of girls I knew who didn’t wear make-up. I experimented for a short while but my limit was mascara – I didn’t branch out any further than that and since then I’ve never worn any make-up. I might not look Instagram-ready like some girls but there’s loads of problems that I don’t have to put up with!

Time

When I see girls online talk about how early they have to get up in the morning just to get ready it shocks me! It takes me 15 minutes to get myself ready in a morning and for some of those girls that’s just how long it takes to do their foundation.

Money

I watch tons of make-up tutorials and the total cost of all the storage, brushes and the actual products is enormous! I know you only get what you pay for but if you don’t want to compromise on anything then the costs pile up.

Topping up

I don’t have to worry about topping up foundation or lipstick throughout the day when it’s worn off slightly, which is good to be honest because I’d probably never remember to anyway!

Make-up bag

I suppose this one is linked to topping up during the day because you need to carry your make-up around if you’re going to need to top it up. Because I don’t wear make-up there’s more space in my bag because I don’t need to take any make-up with me.

Of course I’m glad that I don’t have these problems but there’s other problems I do have to deal with because I don’t wear make-up. I’m just never happy am I?! I suppose all girls, whether they wear make-up or not, have their own problems. Here’s a few of mine.

Appearance

I’ve got very short hair so I don’t look overly feminine as it is so because I don’t wear make-up I sometimes feel like I look a bit of a mess. This is probably just down to my own self-consciousness but I feel like I could look much prettier if I at least wore a bit of mascara every now and again.

Going out

This, for me, is the biggest problem I have as a girl who doesn’t wear make up. When I go out in the evening time or for a meal out I’ll wear a nice dress and my heels but I feel like I don’t look truly dressed up because I don’t wear make-up. I look almost the same as I would if I was going to the supermarket or going to work.

Blogging

Some might see this as an advantage and a way to stand out from the crowd but for me it makes it harder to blog. Because I don’t wear make-up there’s a lot of cool blog posts I can’t write such as empties posts and make-up hauls.

Let me know how you feel about make-up in the comments. Do you love it or loathe it? Do you have any make-up related problems?
