This post was originally supposed to be a favourites post. However, favourites posts are usually more about belongings than experiences. So I thought highlights would be a better word to use to title a post with a blend of both. I’ve never done a post like this before so let me know what you think!
M&S chipotle new potato salad with coriander and spring onion
No joke, this stuff is heavenly. I feel like I haven’t stopped eating it all month but at the same time I can’t get enough of the stuff! It’s part of their Spirit of Summer range so it’s not going to be around for much longer which breaks my heart. But I guess that means I should stock up while I can!
I haven’t stopped barking on about the #EastMidsMeetUp all month. In fact you’re probably sick of hearing about it! But please don’t hate me because I’m going to bark on a little more. The event was really fun but I also learned a lot too. I made some great friends and came home feeling inspired and enthusiastic about blogging. I explained all of this and in my #EastMidsMeetUp post so check it out if you haven’t already.
1000 Twitter followers
This is a milestone I didn’t think I’d ever reach, but I did it! I hit 1000 followers on Twitter! It’s kinda weird because I see other bloggers with a thousand followers and I think wow they’re popular. But that’s me now, and I don’t feel like I imagine those other bloggers feel. Anyway, if you don’t already follow me on Twitter and you’d like to then here’s a link to my profile.
My Olympus PEN
This is something else I haven’t stopped banging on about recently. Last month I splashed out and bought myself the Olympus PEN. It’s the most expensive thing I’ve ever bought and possibly the prettiest too. But it’s not just a pretty face! This little beauty is the perfect tool to help me to up my photography game. I wrote a whole post about how I got my hands on it if you’re interested.
I am especially over the moon with this monthly highlight because I’ve wanted to start my driving lessons for years! All of my friends started their lessons as soon as they turned seventeen because their parents paid for them. But my parents couldn’t afford to so I’ve been saving up for what feels like forever. I’ve had a few lessons and I’m really enjoying them! There’s been a few near misses but I’m slowly getting there.
My Facebook page
I’d never considered setting up a Facebook page for my blog before. Well, until August obviously. I don’t know what came over me but I just thought why not? and went for it. I’ve got a mere 25 likes (I think) but I’m sure my following will grow with time. If you’d like to be my 26th Facebook fan then you can find my page here.
So August was a pretty exciting month! I’m looking forward to writing more monthly highlights posts. I like being able to look back on a month and see what I’ve done and what I’ve enjoyed. I’d love it if you would leave me a comment and let me know what you think of my first monthly highlights post!
