A few weeks ago the lovely Sam from Caketoppers got in touch with me. She asked whether I’d like to review her personalised cupcakes and, of course, I said yes. Who wouldn’t want to try some delicious cupcakes?!
Caketoppers decorate cakes and cupcakes with personalised images, logos or messages. They’re perfect for almost any occasion including birthdays, anniversaries and corporate events. They deliver all over the UK and even provide next day delivery, depending what time you place your order.
She asked me to send over my choice of image to go on top of the cakes. I thought all weekend about it but I just couldn’t decide on anything! So she kindly suggested that I use my blog header, which I thought was a great idea.
Sam shipped my cupcakes on Sunday afternoon and they arrived on Monday. I’ve got to admit, I wasn’t expecting the delivery to be so quick!
I was kinda concerned that they might get squashed or damaged during their journey. However they were packaged really well and fully protected from any bumps or knocks. They arrived in perfect condition and were wonderfully presented.
I got my brother involved to taste test the cupcakes. I knew he’d be up for it because he loves cupcakes almost as much as I do. However I was kinda concerned that he would be too harsh! He certainly doesn’t hold back when he’s criticising someone or something.
I cut the cupcakes in half so we could both give our opinions on each flavour. One was vanilla flavoured and the other was chocolate.
The vanilla cupcake was my personal favourite. It was everything a cupcake should be: light, fluffy and soft. The icing was thick and sweet, almost too sweet for me, but my header image looked incredible! Sometimes I think companies concentrate too much on the appearance of the cupcake and neglect the sponge. I was really happy that the sponge itself had a really tasty vanilla flavour. Caketoppers didn’t let me down!
My brothers comments were almost exactly the same as mine. The only difference was that he liked the icing flavour more than I did. But that’s okay because he likes icing more than me anyway.
The chocolate cupcake was just as tasty as the vanilla one. It was soft and moist, just like the vanilla cupcake, but it was a little heavier. I think it’s the same with any chocolate cake to be honest. I’m not a baker but I’m sure the cocoa changes the texture of the sponge. Please correct me if I’m wrong! The sponge wasn’t dry at all though and the chocolate flavour was rich and delicious.
My brother agreed with me about the texture of the chocolate sponge. He felt that it was a little heavier than the vanilla one but he also said that it was soft and moist.
These cupcakes really would be perfect for any event. They’re special enough for a birthday or anniversary and they’re professional enough for a corporate event. Plus they’d be perfect for literally anyone because you can personalise them with almost any image your heart desires!

Let me know in the comments whether you’ve tried a Caketoppers cupcake before. If not, has my post tempted you to try them? What picture would you choose to have on the top of the cupcake?
Caketoppers kindly gifted me two of their cupcakes for me to review however my opinions are 100% honest and my own.
