fifteen of my favourite things

Fifteen of my favourite things

I recently read a post by one of my good friends and fave bloggers Emmie from Carpe Diem Emmie all about fifteen of her favourite things. She took inspiration from an article in a magazine so I thought I’d take a bit of inspiration from her and share fifteen of my favourite things.

Takeaway treat

My ultimate takeaway treat has to be Domino’s pizza. I usually order the House Special Roast Chicken because it is literally what pizza dreams are made of but I always order the stuffed crust. Pizza with a normal crust is obviously delicious, but a stuffed crust just takes it to the next level of deliciousness.

Film

I blub like an absolute baby every single time I watch Inside Out. I saw it at the cinema when it first came out with my boyfriend and his young cousin but I never expected to love it like I did. If you’ve seen it, you’ll understand. If not, then you have to see it! It’s a masterpiece. Also I’ve never related to a character like I relate to Sadness.

TV show

Since it’s #JokersJanuary on Comedy Central they’re playing back-to-back episodes of Impractical Jokers everyday. Not only has it got me completely hooked on the show (even more than I already was), it’s made me fall just a teeny bit in love with Sal Vulcano. And by teeny bit in love I mean I’ve already planned our wedding.

Song

My favourite song always has and probably always will be Harder to Breathe by Maroon 5. However, Animals (also by Maroon 5) is a close second. Let’s be real, you don’t have to know much about me to know that I adore Maroon 5.

Book

I don’t read half as much as I should. In fact, the last book I read in full was probably Alive. It was a good book, but I only read it because I had to when I was at college and that was two years ago. I did read most of Reasons to Stay Alive by Matt Haig a couple of months ago but I never finished it. I will finish it one day, I promise!

Memory

When I visited York in April 2016 the weather was incredible. I spent an hour or so sitting outside the King’s Arms soaking up the sun and watching the world go by. I’ve never felt so happy and content just sitting and doing nothing. I regularly think about that memory and hope that I’ll do it again one day.

Piece of advice

I can’t remember who it was, but someone said to me once that there’s no point worrying about something that you can’t control. It’s a simple fact but I always think about it when I’m stressing out about something. It helps me to stop wasting my energy and understand what it is that I’m worrying about.

Musical

I’m not a musical type of gal to be honest and I’m not sure whether this counts but I love Grease. I think it’s more of a film than a musical but I know it has been performed as a musical so I’m just gonna roll with it. I just love the story and the songs are so catchy!

Beverage

For me, nothing beats a good chocolate milkshake. Some places make them really watery, others make them with powder and, I’m sorry, but that’s just not good enough for me. I feel so passionately about this that I wrote a whole post all about my favourite chocolate milkshakes. There’s not much worse than a disappointing milkshake so don’t put yourself through it.

Guilty pleasure

Okay this one is kinda embarrassing, even for me! I have two guilty pleasures, one is Pitbull and the other is Fetty Wap. Don’t ask me why, I just love them both. I think they both create incredible music and I would include some of their songs in my all-time favourites ever.

Favourite app

I spend more time on Twitter than any other app. It helps me to learn about what’s happening around the world, keep up with my favourite bloggers and also share funny tweets. I can be myself on Twitter too whereas on Instagram I always feel like I need to make my life look better than what it actually is.

Favourite celebrity

I love Zara Larsson! Every song she churns out is an absolute banger and she’s genuinely hilarious on social media. I follow her on Twitter and Instagram and personally I think everyone should. The thing is though, she’s not just funny. She regularly speaks out about important issues like US politics and the conflict in Syria.

Ideal date

My ideal date would be something fun. Maybe a couple of games of bowling and then a tasty meal somewhere. I’m not fussy when it comes to dates, as long as I have a good time then I don’t mind what we do. A great place to go for a fun date is the National Videogame Arcade in Nottingham. It’s so much fun there!

Evening meal

This is going to sound cocky but my favourite evening meal is actually my bacon, mushroom and Tenderstem® cheesy pasta bake. Don’t judge me, it’s true! Honestly, when I first made it I didn’t think that it was going to be any good. I kinda made the recipe up myself so it could have been disastrous. But luckily it wasn’t and I make it every other week so you should definitely try it!

Proudest moment

I don’t know, if I’m honest I don’t think I’ve had many proud moments. I always feel proud when I’ve helped a customer at work and they leave feeling happy. I can’t think of a particular moment that stood out from the others though. It’s kinda sad isn’t it but I guess that means my proudest moment is yet to come!

Make sure you read Emmie’s post about her fifteen favourite things and give her some love! Also leave me a comment and tell me about your favourite things.
