Monthly highlights July 2017

Monthly highlights: July 2017

July was a great month for me, although most months are these days! As always, it was a busy month but it was packed full of great times that have turned into wonderful memories. Let’s get started because I’ve got a lot to mention!

The end of my Alpha course

Unfortunately July marked the end of one of the most amazing journeys of my life, my Alpha journey. The last week was just as great as all of the other weeks but it was emotional, especially for me. I’ve learned so much and met some truly lovely people who I now consider my friends. I’d recommend the Alpha course to anyone, Christian or not!

My best friend’s birthday

Jordan’s little sister Jasmin celebrated her 8th birthday in July. I can remember way back when she celebrated her 3rd birthday and it doesn’t seem that long ago! We decided to take her to Build-a-Bear Workshop. It was partially so she could choose whatever she wanted but also so I could see my old work friends. Safe to say, she had a great time!

Happy anniversary to my nose piercing!

In July 2016, after years and years of toying with the idea, I finally got my nose pierced and I’ve never looked back. I absolutely love my nose stud, even if it has caused me quite a bit of stress over the past year! I wrote a post all about the things I’ve learned since I had it pierced. It’s definitely worth a read if you’re considering getting your nose pierced or if you’re just interested!

Love Island

Yes, I know Love Island got a mention last month but I couldn’t exclude it from my July highlights! Not after that final! Honestly, my winning couple was Camilla and Jamie but I’m happy for Kem and Amber, they’re worthy winners. I’ve heard rumours about a possible winter Love Island but I don’t know how genuine they are. I’ve got my fingers crossed anyway, I can’t wait until next summer for another series!

Having a social life

A social life is something I’ve never really had. I had friends at school but I didn’t often see them outside of school and when I went to college I didn’t stay in touch with most of them. I didn’t really socialise much with the friends I made at college outside of classes either. But since I started my new job I’ve made tons of new friends and honestly I’ve never met such a wonderful bunch of people. We socialise almost every week inside and outside of work, online and in person. I’m the happiest I’ve been probably ever and it’s all because of these beautiful people!

A weekend away at the seaside

At the very beginning of the month I went away with Jordan and most of his family for a weekend by the Norfolk coast. I’ve been to Norfolk a few times and it’s one of my favourite parts of the UK so I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed. We paddled in the sea and buried each other in the sand and got very sunburnt in the process. I don’t know how though because I was wearing a thick layer of factor 50!

After sun lotion

After getting very sunburnt there is no better feeling on this earth than cool after sun lotion on your sweltering skin. I’ve been sunburnt before but I didn’t remember just how painful it can be. I covered myself in after sun lotion every chance I could get and eventually it paid off. After a few days the redness had gone down and the burns weren’t as sore. Just a quick word of advice though, after sun lotion is much better than after sun spray.

M&S Freshly Squeezed Orange and Crushed Mango Juice

I know, it seems like some kind of M&S food or drink gets a mention in every monthly highlights post. That’s probably because it’s true. But seriously though, this juice is summer in a bottle! It’s quite tangy and it’s got bits in so if that’s not your thing then steer clear but have an open mind. I don’t usually like juice with bits in and I adore this stuff! I’m hoping it’s not a limited edition juice that’ll only be around over summer because I don’t know what I’d do if I couldn’t get it anymore.

Well those were my July highlights, what about yours? Leave me a comment and tell me about your July best bits.
