August was a fun month! Busy as always, but lots of fun for lots of reasons. I’ve got a good mix of highlights from August including music, food and games. There’s a lot to mention so let’s get started!
The best burger of my life
Early in August me and Jordan went out for a spontaneous date night and there was only one place I wanted to go. We had been meaning to book a table at Bodega ever since we attended their press party a few months ago and we couldn’t think of a better opportunity. I ordered a burger and hoped that it wouldn’t be just a typical burger I could have ordered anywhere and, I can assure you, I was not disappointed. It was the best burger I have ever had and you need to get yourself down there and try it for yourself!
Being reunited with my besties
Honestly, I can’t tell you the last time I saw my best friend Sophie before we finally met up in August. We met at college and ever since we left we’ve only seen each other a handful of times. We’d love to see each other more often but life gets in the way and we don’t live very close to each other! We went out for a meal and had a good catch up. We chatted so much she nearly missed her bus! Hopefully we’ll see each other again sooner rather than later.
I also went out with some of my old colleagues which was lots of fun! Laura insisted that we go for a “cakeaway”. I had no idea what she was talking about and I don’t think anyone else did either but as soon as we got there we knew. They basically sell enormous desserts, like enough for three or four people all in one portion! The idea is you eat as much as you can and take the rest home with you. I chose the Nutella cake and it was amazing but I ended up taking most of it home with me and sharing it with my mum and brother!
I haven’t had a chance to visit Nottingham beach all summer so I was super excited to go on bank holiday Monday. I’ve been working Saturdays throughout summer so it was my only opportunity to visit before it disappears for another year. Although I wasn’t complaining, I love the busy atmosphere! The weather was amazing so it was even more busy than normal and I had a wonderful day with Jordan.
New Maroon 5 music
I’ll be honest, I thought I might have been falling out of love with Maroon 5. I still loved their music but I wasn’t listening to them as often as I once did and I wasn’t crazy about their new singles. That was until they released their latest track What Lovers Do. I’ve not been this excited about a Maroon 5 single since Maps and that was released way back in 2014! If you haven’t heard it already then you definitely should. It’s pretty much everywhere including Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube so check it out and let me know what you think!
I was lying in bed one day and stumbled across an advert for Sonic Dash. I don’t know how but I’d never heard of it before so I read a few reviews and decided to download it and see what it was like. I’ve been hooked ever since! I’ve played it everyday since I downloaded it and I’ve even downloaded Sonic Dash 2 as well. I haven’t started playing that yet though, honestly I don’t want to ruin the first one! I’ll let you know what I think of the second one once I’ve started it.
Friday night is Nintendo Switch night
I’ve spent a couple of my Fridays throughout August playing Nintendo Switch with my colleagues round at my boss’s house. I wasn’t convinced by the Nintendo Switch when it first came out but after experiencing it for real I want one of my own! Me and my brother have decided to save up and get one between us to split the cost because it’s quite a lot of money. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think of the Nintendo Switch. Have you got one or do you know someone who does?
So that was my August, how about yours? As always, leave me a comment and tell me a couple of your August highlights. I’d love to know what you’ve been up to!
