Bodega, Derby: The press party

Bodega have been on my radar now for a while. I’d heard wonderful things about their restaurant in Leicester as a few of my friends had been and written about it. But the thing is, I don’t visit Leicester very often so I’ve always missed out. Until now! A few months ago (I think I was on my way to The Orange Tree) I noticed that Bodega was opening soon in Derby. There were some posters up in an empty restaurant at the bottom of Sadler Gate. Honestly at the time I thought to myself “I wonder if they’ll put on…

Monthly highlights: March 2017

March was probably one of the best months I’ve had in a long time. I had a few days off work so I had some time for myself, my boyfriend and my family. Here’s just a few of the things I was loving throughout March and what I got up to! Saturday off shopping spree I think it was the first Saturday in March when I had the day off work. It’s okay to take a break if you need one

I’ve seen a lot of bloggers announce that they’re going to take a break lately, whether it be from social media or blogging in general. Sometimes we need to take a break, too much of anything can be bad for us. There’s no shame in admitting that you need some time out. Monthly highlights: February 2017

Despite February being the shortest month, this one was a busy month! So it only makes sense that my February highlights post is bursting full. As always, there’s a real mix of highlights but each one is special to me. Valentine’s Day Some people love it, others hate it. Personally I love Valentine’s Day and this year was no exception. Luckily I wasn’t working late on Valentine’s Day so we went out for a curry. It wasn’t anything special but we didn’t care, we just wanted to spend the time together. Anyway, who doesn’t love a good curry? I bought…

I’ve realised something about Instagram

I’ve been working on my blog photography (or at least trying to find the time to) for a long time. For me, it’s a slow process. I compare my blog and my photography to other people’s. Not in a bad way, I compare in a positive way because I compare myself to the people I’d like to be like one day. During the summer last year I decided that I needed to improve my photography. I wanted to be able to take the clean crisp images that other bloggers could. I bought a nice camera and thought of some props that…
