My bacon, mushroom and Tenderstem® cheesy pasta bake

A couple of weeks ago I received an email from Tenderstem® asking me whether I’d be interested in coming up with an interesting recipe idea. Tenderstem® is basically broccoli crossed with Chinese kale. It’s sweeter than traditional broccoli and, as you’ve probably guessed, the stems are much softer so you can eat it whole rather than chop them off. At first I was doubtful whether to take them up on the offer because, I’ll be honest, I’m not a great cook but I thought I might as well give it a go and try doing something new. I didn’t have anything to…

#DerbyBloggersBrunch – my first ever blogger meet up!

So today I went to my first ever blogger meet up. It was the #DerbyBloggersBrunch organised by the lovely Monet from Munching With Monet. It took place at The Cosy Club in Derby, one of the latest exciting new restaurants to open up in the city centre. I’d never been before but I’d heard and read great things about it so I couldn’t wait to try it for myself, as well as meet a great bunch of local bloggers. I got to the meet a little early because I really didn’t want to be the last one there, I don’t know…

Lunch at Barburrito

This weekend me and Jordan went to Barburrito in Nottingham, like we do almost every weekend. We love it there! It’s burrito paradise. So I thought to myself, why have I never told you about it? Well to be honest I don’t know and this post is long overdue, believe me. Barburrito have restaurants in London, Manchester, Cardiff, Gateshead, Leeds, Liverpool and Nottingham and the menu includes classic Mexican goodies like burritos (obviously!), nachos and churros. It’s kinda like the Subway of Mexican food. You choose your rice, beans, salsa and filling and anything else you’d like so it’s completely customisable…

Valentine’s night at The Distillery

So for Valentine’s day me and Jordan decided to go out for a meal on Saturday night instead of actual Valentine’s night. No reason in particular, it’s just we thought Saturday would be a bit more lively and I prefer to chill at home on Sunday nights. I read a fantastic blog post by one of my favourite bloggers, Olivia, about The Distillery in Derby so we decided to go and try it ourselves. You can read Olivia’s post here. First impressions were good. We’d never noticed the place before as it’s set back from the road behind the church…

Unpopular opinion: Krispy Kreme

About a year ago I went to Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet for the first time with my mum and my nana. They’ve got so many fantastic shops and restaurants and I spent so much money there but one thing I bought in particular was my first Krispy Kreme doughnut. They didn’t have a shop there, it was a Krispy Kreme van parked in the walkway so there wasn’t a lot of choice because it wasn’t very big. I had enormously high hopes because there’s obviously a lot of hype around Krispy Kreme doughnuts, but I was disappointed! I chose the…
