Birthday burgers at Byron, intu Derby

I first visited Byron in intu Derby way back when it first opened a couple of years ago and I’ve never been back. Mostly because of the bad service I received while I was there but also because I thought the food was overpriced. So when intu Derby invited me along to celebrate Byron’s tenth birthday I wasn’t jumping for joy but I had an open mind. We arrived a little early but we were quickly shown to our table. We were seated with another blogger, Gemma from The Gem Agenda and her friend. I’ve only ever met Gemma once…

Exploring Paradise Island Adventure Golf at intu Derby

A few weeks ago I was kindly invited to explore the new Paradise Island Adventure Golf located within intu Derby’s new multi-million pound entertainment complex. The complex had been on my radar long before it was even being constructed! I read about it in a local newspaper and thought it was exactly what Derby was crying out for. So obviously when I received the invitation I jumped at the opportunity! I invited my brother along and we decided to visit on a Sunday afternoon. We thought this might be a good time because we never normally do much on a…

Bodega, Derby: The press party

Bodega have been on my radar now for a while. I’d heard wonderful things about their restaurant in Leicester as a few of my friends had been and written about it. But the thing is, I don’t visit Leicester very often so I’ve always missed out. Until now! Honestly at the time I thought to myself “I wonder if they’ll put on…

Get your crackers out, shove a turkey in the oven and put your party hats on. It’s time to get Christmassy! That’s right, prepare to feel the Christmas spirit.  Yes I’m aware that Christmas was nearly two months ago now but just hang in there and I’ll explain. I went away to York for a couple of days in December and the city had been transformed into the most beautiful festive wonderland. I took tons of pictures so I thought I’d share them with you. Partially because I want to be able to have a place to look back at them,…

Rush Hair, Nottingham: exclusive VIP night

A few weeks ago (read: three months ago) I was very kindly invited to the exclusive VIP pre-opening of the new Rush hair salon in Nottingham city centre. Nottingham isn’t the nearest city to me, however it is my favourite city in my local area so I was super excited! I arrived early but, luckily for me, a few other people did too so I got the chance to say hello and introduce myself before we went inside. My first impressions were fantastic! The place was spotless. There were tons of products stacked on the shelves and each one was perfectly…
