Boozy Bottomless Brunch at Hide Burger Bar, Derby

You could be forgiven for thinking this blog has rebranded and become a blog dedicated to all the bottomless brunch choices there are out there at the moment but, alas, it hasn’t. I am still here, I’ve just been eating a lot of brunch! Hope you don’t mind. Hide Burger Bar is one of those places I’ve wanted to try for the longest time. We’re talking years! And for whatever reason I’ve just never been. So when I was given the opportunity to try their bottomless brunch, of course I said yes! I brought my friend Sophie along (it’s so…

Gianni’s Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria, Scarborough

When myself and Jordan went away to Scarborough for a few days in August we hoped to keep costs to a minimum. So we cooked something in the holiday flat most nights but we wanted to make our last night special and head out somewhere to eat. We were going to go for a classic fish and chip tea (an absolute must when you’re by the sea) but we’d eaten so many chips already we fancied something different. After a quick Google, I stumbled upon Gianni’s. Gianni’s is a long established, family-run restaurant that has been in the heart of…

Why are bloggers being criticised for not being “real”?

The latest bandwagon in the blogosphere seems to be criticising bloggers/influencers/people in general for posting content that isn’t considered “real” and, to be honest, I don’t understand it. Particularly on Instagram. I understand people wanting to follow bloggers who share the more everyday bits of their life, like their weekly shop (I love a good Lidl haul), their health issues or their cleaning routine (c’mon, who doesn’t adore Mrs Hinch?). But I also understand that it’s not for everyone. The only thing I don’t understand is the need to criticise. What even is “real”? Who decides what it is or…

Bottomless brunch at Las Iguanas, Birmingham

If you’ve read my post all about the transformation at Las Iguanas, Nottingham then you’ll already know I’m a big big fan. In fact my boyfriend Jordan loves the place and, let me tell you, he doesn’t love many things! We’ve known that Las Iguanas has been serving up brunch for a while now but we’ve never set aside the time to give it a try. So, a couple of weeks ago when we were in Birmingham, we visited Las Iguanas Temple St. to put it to the test! We arrived early. So early that they weren’t even open yet. We…

Airbnb: Thoughts from a first-timer and the hidden gem I found

I had always been sceptical (to say the least!) about Airbnb. I’d read a few horror stories, seen a couple of bad reports and had never really considered booking with them to be honest because of what I’d heard. That was until I was desperately hunting for somewhere half-decent but also affordable for us to stay during our break away in the summer. We hoped to extend our seaside break to Scarborough for an extra night in York – a little stop off on the way home if you like. Hotels were averaging at between £70 and £90 a night…
