Lifestyle Thoughts

I’m officially a member of the Papergang!

It seems monthly subscription boxes are at the peak of their popularity at the moment. It’s hardly surprising, there’s one out there for everyone! Arguably the most popular subscription boxes are beauty based, however there’s a subscription for everything from cheese toasties to arts and crafts. I liked the idea of receiving a surprise box of goodies every month so I jumped on the bandwagon and joined the Papergang.

You might not have heard of Papergang, but you’ve probably heard of Ohh Deer. They sell adorable gifts and Papergang is their monthly stationary subscription box. Every month the contents is designed by a different artist (this month’s artist was Gemma Correll) and at £9.95 it’s a bargain!

When I first opened the box there was a postcard listing the contents. I wanted it to be a surprise so I quickly hid that away! There was also an iron-on badge of the Papergang mascot which I think I got because this is my first box.

The first item I unpacked was a pen with tiny dancing pugs all over it. It’s kinda heavy, which is good because it feels like a top quality pen. I can’t stand cheap pens so that’s perfect for me! Plus I’m always jotting things down at work so this is something I’ll use everyday.

The next thing I unpacked was a notebook. I am notebook obsessed, there’s five on my shelf waiting to be written in, so I was thrilled when I unpacked this! The notebook also has a pug on the front so it matches the pen. The pages are lined which I love and there’s a ribbon marker too which always comes in handy.

I’m not sure what I’m going to do with these next items but I don’t care because I love them. They’re patterned washi tapes. There’s a white one with black text, a red stripy one and a white one with the same dancing pug pattern that’s printed on the pen. I would pick a favourite, but that would be like picking between red and purple Fruit Pastilles and I just can’t do that.

When I first unpacked this next item I didn’t know exactly what it was so I had to check with the postcard that I hid away at the beginning. Turns out it’s a sheet of wrapping paper. Personally I think it’s too cute to give away to someone who will only tear it apart. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with it but I’ll think of something!

The last item I unpacked was a greetings card. This is really useful for me because, when there’s a special occasion coming up, I always struggle to find a greetings card I like. I could wander round Card Factory for hours and still not find anything! Plus it’s 100% relatable so I’m sure anyone would appreciate it.

I’m going to be honest guys, with the box being so affordable I wasn’t sure whether the items were going to be good quality. However everything I’ve received is fantastic and, according to the handy postcard, altogether the contents of the box is worth more than double the £9.95 I paid!

The items that are sent in the monthly boxes are exclusive for a while before they go on sale in Ohh Deer’s online shop. So if you like the look of a couple of the items I got then keep an eye out because you might be able to snap them up!

To sign up to receive the next Papergang box click here to subscribe. You can pay monthly or get a discount for paying for three, six or twelve months in advance. They ship the boxes at the end of the month but you can sign up at any time. However to receive the next box you must be subscribed before the 22nd of July!

Let me know in the comments what you think of my first Papergang box. Have I tempted you to subscribe? Are you signed up for any monthly subscription boxes? If so, let me know which ones!

You’re in luck Julia, they do ship to South Africa! The shipping is a little more expensive though and your box could take 6 to 12 days to be delivered. I hope this doesn’t put you off. Let me know if you choose to subscribe!
