Monthly highlights: September 2016

September was a busy month! It’s flown by but at the same time the 1st of September feels like so long ago. My highlights this month are varied to say the least and there’s a lot of them, so let’s get stuck in.

Charity shop shopping at LOROS

You’ll know all about this if you read my post about my charity shop shopping trip. In case you didn’t and you can’t be bothered to I’ll give you a quick explanation. Basically me, Charlotte and Kirstie went shopping at LOROS in Leicester and picked up some incredible bargains. My favourite bargain was this beautiful floral Joules dress that still had the original tag on! It was a great day and I can’t wait to go back and find some more gems.

Years & Years – Meteorite

Okay you almost definitely won’t know this unless you’ve done some major creeping on my Twitter and Instagram but I’m a huge Years & Years fan. I’ve been waiting for them to release new music for months so when I heard Meteorite for the first time I nearly burst. It’s just so catchy! If you haven’t heard it yet then where have you been?! You need to check it out.

intu Derby student night

A couple of weeks ago I was invited along to intu Derby’s student night. Even though I was a student in Derby for two years I never went to student night, and now I’m kicking myself. I always thought it was just a few shops offering a few discounts here and there, nothing special. But I was so wrong! I wrote a whole post about it here if you want to find out more and see all of the glorious bargains I took home with me.

Adam and Behati’s baby girl

Please excuse me, but September didn’t just involve me fangirling over Years & Years. My ultimate man crush and the frontman of my all-time favourite band is officially a dad! He’s always been a bit of a ladies man but he married Victoria’s Secret supermodel Behati Prinsloo in 2014 and now they’re parents to a beautiful baby girl. I’m so happy for them!

Fun at the seaside

It feels like months ago when I went to Scarborough with my family, when actually it was only the 1st of September. It was one of my favourite days of the summer. Probably even one of my favourite days of the year! We had fish and chips and donuts and sat on the beach all afternoon. It was a lovely day and I really enjoyed spending time with my family.

The Orange Tree Derby launch night

I was so grateful last month to be invited to the launch night of Derby’s latest bar, The Orange Tree. I brought along my boyfriend Jordan as I was kinda nervous, plus he’s more of a drinker than I am. I won’t bang on about it too much because I wrote a whole post about our night out here. You should definitely check it out if you want to find out more!

Blogger interviews

I was super excited this month because two blogger interviews I recently took part in were published! Ellen from asked me to take part in her Inspirational Interviews series. Also Jordanne from The Life of a Glasgow Girl asked me to take part in her #MeetTheBeauties interview series. You can check out my interview with Ellen here and my interview with Jordanne here. Don’t forget to leave them a comment and let them know what you think!

And (I think!) that’s it for my September highlights. It was such a busy month, but I had a lot of fun! Let me know in the comments which of my September highlights is your favourite. Personally, I can’t choose! Also tell me one of your September highlights.
